Chile: Colo Colo nearing the finish line

Colo After defeating La Serena 1-0 in the first leg of the semifinals, Colo, the most popular club in Chile, advanced to the championship’s final. For the bulk of the game, Hugo Tocalli’s team outperformed its opponents, earning a deserving but close victory.

Colo Colo just needs a draw in the second leg at “La Portadea” to proceed to the championship game after scoring the game-winning goal in the 56th minute through striker Esteban Paredes.

Colo Despite Colo’s dominance and better goal-scoring opportunities in the first half, Gaston Losa of La Serena kept his team at bay.

After the interval, el Cacique continued to play stronger football, and once Paredes gave them the lead, they didn’t have too many problems.

The favorite to win the competition, Universidad Catolica, defeated Santiago Morning 3-0 in the other semi-final on Saturday.

With 28 championships, Colo Colo is the most successful team in Chile’s top division. Third-most prosperous is Universidad Catolica, with 9.
