Transfers: Luis Suarez of Ajax is a target for Arsenal

Suarez’s goals have attracted the interest of Arsenal

Luis Suarez, an Uruguayan striker now playing for Ajax Amsterdam, may be moving to Arsenal for the upcoming campaign after the Premier League team was reportedly prepared to pay €25 million for him. The Daily Mirror claims that Arsene Wenger is seeking a player to bolster his forward line, and Suarez is at the top of his priority list.

Suarez, 23, said that while he is content at Ajax and delighted to return there for the upcoming season, it would be tough to turn down a lucrative offer from Arsenal.

The Uruguayan international ended the Dutch Eredivise as the league’s top scorer with no less than 35 goals, putting him ahead of Barcelona ace Lionel Messi in the European scoring rankings.

Since the player has been on the radar of Arsenal for some months, they are aiming to sign him before the World Cup. The player is being monitored by several other elite European teams, including Barcelona, AC Milan, Chelsea, and Manchester United.

With a strong showing for the Uruguayan national team at the 2010 World Cup, where he is anticipated to play alongside Atletico Madrid goal-scoring dynamo Diego Forlan, Suarez’s price tag might rise even more.
