Flamengo is a transfer target for Roma Adriano, a striker

Adriano may eventually sign a transfer to AS Roma

Serie A runners-up in Italy Adriano, a striker for Flamengo, is a guy that AS Roma has been keeping an eye on for a while. Since returning to Flamengo from Inter Milan last year, Adriano has drawn interest from numerous European teams. However, the player claims that now that his alcoholism has been treated, he is once again qualified to compete in Europe’s best divisions.

Roma’s female president Rosella Sensi announced on Monday that she intends to sign the Brazilian for the upcoming campaign, even though she acknowledges the club’s present financial difficulties.

Regarding if Roma would have the money to count with the player next season, Sensi said to a local radio station, “We are working, I am cognizant that it isn’t an easy period, and we aren’t in the position to spend big sums of money.”

Adriano, 28, will not participate in the 2010 World Cup since he was not selected for Dunga’s 30-man roster and has not renewed his Flamengo contract.

Adriano will have no issue adjusting to the Italian game given that he has played for Inter Milan, Fiorentina, and Parma. This increases the likelihood that the club will eventually sign a player from the Italian capital.

Fabio Simplicio, another Brazilian who recently signed a three-year contract with the team, has already given Roma peace of mind.
